If you follow me on twitter, or we are friends on Facebook, you probably are aware of my support in a special campaign. Todd and Ula Nelkin, from Houston, are auctioning off a rare card featuring and signed by both Walter Payton and myself in hopes of using the funds for IVF to have a baby. The auction can be found on the eBay website by clicking here .
My friends and I have also donated some great memorabilia pieces, so stay tuned all month for great items from fellow legends like Thurman Thomas and Steve Young.
Yesterday, I went out to Ford Field for an appearance with Verizon and brought my 11-year-old son, Nigel. We had a great time playing catch and showing him how to kick a field goal. Gets me excited for the Lions and looking forward to bringing my boys out to the game this Sunday vs. Seattle.
We are coming off of a tough loss both on the field and with Nate Burleson breaking his leg. It's hard to watch a teammate go down. That could be you.
The defense contained the Bears, but not as much as they contained to us. We've faced some good opponents and great matchups already this season and unlike last year, when the Lions were "the team you did not see coming," this year teams are gunning for us.
The Seahawks are 1-3 on the road this year. I'd like to say this should be an easy win for the Lions, but you should never underestimate your opponent. I am a strong believer that come-from-behind victories are great, but we need to start scoring early and getting up on teams. Let them play catch up and force plays that become mistakes. That is going to start with making big plays on D and O early.
I know East Coast fans are excited about the rivalry between the Jets and the Dolphins. I think that's going to be a great matchup for their fans. I was recently asked about what I would do in the wildcat situation and man, I just don't know.
I've made a few passes throughout my career, but I certainly never threw any touchdowns. The Jets have so many injuries, but they can still put up points. The Dolphins have a great young QB in Ryan Tannehill, and of course my buddy Reggie Bush is quietly having a solid season.
Also, I think fans are excited about the Giants vs. the Cowboys. Two teams with very passionate fans. This should be a classic NFC East matchup. The Giants have been playing great football lately, coming off two big wins, and they are looking to avenge that opening-game loss in NY.
The Cowboys have been up and down all year. It will be interesting to see how Tony Romo holds up to the Giants rush.
The big game this week is on Monday night. Two great teams in the 49ers vs. the Cardinals. I personally am going to have to go with the 49ers. I've seen more of their action and plays this season. But that may be the foundation of strength the Cardinals need. Obviously this game is critical for deciding the division.

We need a W in Mo Town this week!! I was thinking that we have been off to a slow start for a number of reasons, but last season we were running the hurry up offense a lot with a lot of posse personnel. This season we start all our games in regular formation, but I have no doubt that we will make the adjustments we need to get our O turned around. Our D is looking better which is nice!
P.S. What do you think of C.J. Spiller? He reminds of me of Bo Jackson and Adrian Peterson wrapped into one. I love watching him run.
